Table Shiatsu massage is an adaptation of traditional, fully clothed Japanese and Chinese acupressure massage. It is a great alternative to those uncomfortable being undressed.
It is believed that our bodies have channels called meridians that interlock with corresponding organs, muscles, everything really. The meridians have two opposite ends. Yin, being the energy of the earth, and Yang, the energy of Heaven. Our bodies are full of this energy, which the Chinese refer to as "Ch’i". This modality is focused on the meridians in the body and releasing blockages that can get congested and cause pain or irregularity in the body. Shiatsu massage has a natural energy flow from Practitioner to client, which helps relax, energize and cleanse the body of bad energy.
