As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I’m on my feet a lot. Also, with all the weight I carry throughout the day, my back always needs some serious work. Karen Fales is always my ’go-to’ massage therapist in the San Diego area. She’s very thorough during every consultation, and asking all the right questions. She’s the queen of deep tissue massage. The best part of Karen’s services, is her great attention to detail, leaving no muscle untouched. I always feel relaxed and rejuvenated after my visit!

There are so many elements that go into making a regular massage a great massage, and Karen definitely has it down! Her office is located in a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Pacific Beach. She doesn’t share the office with many people, but the 3 or 4 girls she does work with offer --what feels like- a more personalized variety of care (there’s one person for hair, another for microdermabrasion etc). Once you enter Karen’s "office", you are immediately relaxed. It’s not too dark or too light and the table and sheets are very comforting. Before she begins every massage (I’ve been to her a few times now because she’s so awesome lol), she always asks about how you’ve been feeling and if there’s anything new that’s been bothering you physically. You’d think after a few visits she might not bother with those questions, but she’s a professional and you can tell immediately that she takes time to ensure her clients get the most out of every visit. I could rave about Karen’s work, but I really recommend booking her for yourself. Your muscles will thank you!

For my first time getting a massage I loved it and am now hooked. Karen is the best, a comfortable atmosphere, and highly recommend it. Karen always asks what you want, and makes the session as comfortable as possible (from asking where to focus the massage on to picking what kind of music to listen to) Can’t wait to go back!

Karen Fales is hands down the BEST massage therapist I’ve had the pleasure to have work on me. I was lucky enough to find her when she was fresh out of massage school up in the Bay Area. From the beginning, she personalized my sessions by asking how I was feeling, what I wanted her to focus on and even let me pick the music for my massage. On top of that, she created a blend of aroma therapy oils, right then and there, for whatever type of "thing&quout; I wanted to accomplish: de-stress, re-energize, etc.

I have a vivid memory of my first massage with Karen. After the first few minutes of the session, I became so relaxed that I was in some sort of trance...I was awake enough to be aware of how good the massage felt, yet I was so relaxed that I felt asleep. By the end of the massage, I felt like I’d had a solid afternoon nap and then embarrassingly pointed-out to Karen the decent-sized puddle of drool that I’d left on her floor. In my relaxed state, I didn’t even realize I’d been drooling!

I only have two regrets about discovering Karen:

• 1.) She’s now down in San Diego and since I live in the Bay Area, I don't have easy access to her anymore!
• 2.) I'm ruined when all other massage therapists are concerned! No others have matched her skills and personalized service.

So, if you're in the San Diego area, make an appointment with Karen! She'll keep you coming back for more.

Such an amazing experience!!! Karen is one of the best massage therapists I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. She really made me feel comfortable, listened to what my body needed, and was incredibly skilled. Her spa is cute, clean, and peaceful. I can’t wait to go back!

I have had many massage therapists in the 10 years I’ve lived in San Diego. It is hard to find one as good as Karen. She is able to achieve a rare blend of an excellent therapeutic deep-tissue massage combined with the total "blissed-out" serenity and calm of a relaxation massage. Few therapists manage to attain both. Karen’s deep-tissue and pressure-point technique is phenomenal. She has the skills you rarely find in a San Diego massage therapist, and you will leave a session with her feeling completely relaxed and with whatever pain you had diminished or gone. She is also extremely professional, friendly, and makes sure to ask you what is bothering you and what areas you want to focus on, what pressure you like, etc. She is genuine and really cares about making sure your massage is the best it can be. Her location on Del Rey in Pacific Beach is very tranquil, peaceful, and welcoming. She plays soothing music and uses warm, wet towels on your feet for a finishing touch that I find to be delightful icing on the cake! The room has the perfect level of light and dark and a comfortable table that can be heated if you like. I can’t recommend her enough for any type of massage experience you want.

I don’t get massages often and I definitely have never though of getting a body wrap but a friend of mine bought one for me and so I said what the heck. I will say that, as a guy, I was inititally nervous to walk into a massage place to get a body wrap/skin treatment but Karen made me feel like it was a normal thing. She made sure I was comfortable every step through the process and at the end my body felt great and my skin was smooth as sh*t. I’m not sure who liked it more my girlfriend or me.
I have been back to see Karen for a few massages and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a good massage therapist. She always manages to work out my tough spots while making me feel so realxed that I ususally end up falling asleep.

One word: AMAZING. This gal has got to be SD’s best messieurs, and, trust me, I have gone to MANY. Being dubbed a "spa junkie," I can tell you that Karen has done wonders for my sore muscles and tight shoulders/ neck from my intense workout regime and obsession with wake-boarding. Truly, no one else has been able to help ease my tension and reduce pain to nearly null. In fact, I referred my mom (also a picky massage go-er) to her, and she is also hooked! I’m so thankful to have found Karen: local, professional, and a great gal to boot! I highly recommend her to all my fellow SD folks (and visitors)!

Definitely one of, if not THE best massage I’ve ever had. Karen did a great job working out my tense shoulders and gave me suggestions for stretches and tissue work I can do for myself at home. Unlike many past massages, I was allowed to simply relax and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and fabulous massage, rather than having to keep my masseuse company for the hour.
The space is a little awkward, but they’ve done a fantastic job with it! It’s very attractive and relaxing. In reply to a previous comment, they seem to have taken your recommendation and now offer warm towels to wipe off extra lotion at the end. And the use of hot packs through the massage was a definite plus!
I highly recommend seeing Karen for your next massage!

AMAZING!!! Went here for the first time since I had a gift certificate from kgbdeals. Karen immediately greeted me with a smile upon my arrival. Her last client, also her first time, had just finished and was raving about her experience with Karen (definitely a good sign).
Karen is very sweet and has a warm personality. She got all my knots out and gave me one of the best (if not, the best) massage I’ve ever had. It was absolutely therapeutic! I will definitely be back!
